When working in the Social Security Record area, keep in mind that these date entries are about what you've already done, not what you intend to do in the future. If you have already filed for your SS benefit, enter the appropriate date in the Retirement file date area. This Spousal field may not be required here in some cases. You will have a chance to review that spousal date or adjust it when you enter dates in the Household > Social Security Strategy area.
