Roth Optimization is one of the options in the maximization plan. To find that, select Reports and then select Maximization Plan.
MaxiFi is not doing joint optimization of any options chosen but rather sequential optimization. The only joint optimization is over Smooth start dates and Account withdrawal order. So you can’t optimize everything in one single run and apply all changes at once. You have to do three separate runs and commit them to the base plan after each run.
Future enhancements of this would be to allow choosing multiple options and choosing which order to run them in, and also, if performance allows, actually doing joint optimizations. But those will require more work.

Users might want to try a couple orders. Every case is going to be different. Social Security is probably going to be the biggest bang and not likely affected by other items so that’s probably first. The smooth withdrawal years will impact Roth Conversion Optimization. We have found in at least one case that optimizing RCO and then optimizing withdrawal order ended up being the biggest gain, vs optimizing withdrawal order and then RCO.
With a married couple, you may also find that optimizing just one person rather than both can create a better optimization.
Users should also experiment with Roth Proportional and Roth Last. Roth First will not likely improve a plan.
